She studied Journalism and Communication at Kyung Hee University, where she first developed an interest in acting after joining a university theater club. Initially working backstage, she gradually transitioned into performing, taking part in stage plays such as Spoonface Steinberg, Pansy, and Ask for Love.

Breakthrough in Film

Her feature film debut came in Park Chan-wook’s "The Handmaiden" (2016), where she played Sook-hee, a cunning maid caught in a complex web of love, betrayal, and deception. The role was her breakout, winning her multiple Best New Actress awards at prestigious ceremonies, including the Blue Dragon Film Awards and the Director’s Cut Awards.She went on to star in acclaimed films such as:
