Nine years after her young son Ryu Sun-woo disappears during a camping school bus incident, Ryu So-young struggles to move on with her life. Unable to let go of the past, she finds comfort in an artificial intelligence program that recreates memories of her missing child.
Her world is turned upside down when Sun-woo suddenly returns as a grown man with no clear explanation for his disappearance. While So-young longs to embrace the miracle she has dreamed of for years, his unexpected return brings unease rather than relief. As mother and son attempt to rebuild their relationship, hidden truths and unsettling questions begin to surface, transforming their reunion into a tense psychological mystery.
Ahead of its theatrical release, “Paradise Lost” generated strong anticipation thanks to its intriguing premise, emotional teaser, and the reunion of acclaimed director Yeon Sang-ho with actress Kim Hyun-joo.
