The series is a Korean adaptation of the Chinese novel “Bu Bu Jing Xin” by Tong Hua and its 2011 Chinese drama adaptation. It aired on SBS from August 29 to November 1, 2016, with a total of 20 episodes plus two specials.
Despite mixed domestic ratings, the series became a massive international success, gaining a devoted fanbase across Asia and worldwide thanks to its emotional storytelling, star-studded cast, and high production values.
The story blends time-travel fantasy with royal court intrigue during the Goryeo Dynasty.

She becomes entangled in the lives of the royal princes of the Wang family, each vying for power, love, and survival.
Among them, she develops complicated relationships with the gentle 8th Prince Wang Wook (Kang Ha-neul) and the brooding yet misunderstood 4th Prince Wang So (Lee Joon-gi).
As rivalries escalate and betrayals unfold, Hae Soo must navigate palace politics, forbidden love, and her tragic fate.
