Woo Do-hwan (Korean: 우도환; born July 12, 1992) is a South Korean actor. He began his career in 2011 and gained recognition in 2017 with leading roles in the dramas "Save Me" and "Mad Dog". Woo Do-hwan has since starred in notable works including "Tempted" (2018), "My Country: The New Age" (2019), "The King: Eternal Monarch" (2020), "Joseon Attorney: A Morality" (2023), "Bloodhounds" (2023–present), and "Mr. Plankton" (2024). He also appeared in films such as "The Divine Fury" (2019) and "The Divine Move 2: The Wrathful" (2019).

Early life and education

Woo Do-hwan was born on July 12, 1992, in Anyang, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. He initially aspired to become a pilot but pursued acting after his parents' encouragement. He graduated from Dankook University with a major in Performing Arts.

Military service

Woo Do-hwan enlisted for mandatory military service on July 6, 2020, completing basic training as a company commander intern. He was discharged on January 5, 2022.

Career

2011–2016: Debut and early roles

Woo Do-hwan debuted in 2011 with a minor role in "Come, Come, Absolutely Come". Early supporting roles included "Sweet Stranger and Me" (2016) and films like "Operation Chromite" (2016) and "Master" (2016).

2017–2019: Rise to prominence

His breakthrough came in 2017 with leads in "Save Me" as Seok Dong-cheol and "Mad Dog" as Kim Min-joon, earning Best New Actor at the KBS Drama Awards. In 2018, he starred in "Tempted" as Kwon Si-hyeon. In 2019, he led "My Country: The New Age" as Nam Seon-ho and appeared in "The Divine Fury" and "The Divine Move 2: The Wrathful".

2020s

In 2020, Woo Do-hwan portrayed dual roles in "The King: Eternal Monarch". After military discharge, he returned in 2023 with "Joseon Attorney: A Morality" as Kang Han-soo and "Bloodhounds" as boxer Kim Geon-woo, undergoing intense physical training for the role. In 2024, he led "Mr. Plankton" as Hae-jo alongside Lee Yoo-mi. In 2025–2026, he plays Baek Ki-hyeon in "Made in Korea", a historical drama involving family conflicts and power struggles, and reprises Kim Geon-woo in "Bloodhounds" season 2. Upcoming projects include "Knock-Off" (TBA) and "Night Fever" (TBA).
